Ordinary life of a Maine artist

In a poem by William C. Martin written to Modern parents about their children, the last line reads, “And make the ordinary come alive for them. The extraordinary will take care of itself“. So often I strive to be exceptional, extraordinary. I work, and work, seeking and striving. It’s only when I pause, that I realize the ordinary is amazing all in itself.

I have struggled with this first post. It’s the beginning. A blank canvas. ‘This first post needs to be great’ has been my pressure. All my ideas and hopes just bursting to be expressed, but how? When I read William Martin’s words I realized that I found the words to express what I hope to do with this website; make the ordinary come alive.

On this website you will see my current work, my past projects and stories about my work and projects. My work comes out of my life as, no doubt, you would expect it would. There will be links to sites to purchase some of my work and information on when and where to see my work. I hope you will enjoy this journey that starts with this first post. I know I will.

Best,
