People Are Funny!

Some ideas come from every day conversations.

I was at the farmer’s market visiting my favorite vendor. She was telling me a story about her sausage recipe, sugar and a customer. I responded saying that people are funny. She responded that People Are Funny – emphasizing Are. I went home and made this graphic. Having an easy way to make a gift through my shop, inspired me to put this graphic on a mug!It was so fun to give her the mug. She loved the chicken too!

Iris

One person’s weed is another’s iris!
When we first bought our house with three acres, we dove into gardening. I tackled the flower gardens. I starting with gardening magazines, scouring through all the varieties, planning shade garden in the back and the rock garden in the front yard. It was loads of fun. Bought roots and seedlings.

In the process of preparing the rock garden, I uprooted what I expected to be weeds, rhizomes, that had flooded the garden. Hating to kill anything and not quite knowing what plants they were, I placed the rhizomes near the mailbox and the back door. I carefully planted the variety of plants in the garden. As the summer went on, the rhizomes grew and bloomed.

And voila, they were iris! Beautiful purple and resilient iris!
